PatreonTV is early-stage and open-source. If you hit something unexpected, we'd like to hear about it.
Common questions
How do I sign in?
On first launch, PatreonTV shows a short pairing code. Open the link shown on the TV on your phone or computer, confirm the code matches, and sign in to Patreon there. Your Apple TV connects automatically within a few seconds and stays signed in.
Why can't I see a post I know I paid for?
Make sure you paired with the same Patreon account that has the membership. If a specific post still doesn't appear, try force-quitting and reopening the app, or sign out and pair again.
A video won't play. What now?
Try these in order:
- Sign out and back in from Settings → Sign Out.
- If the post uses a YouTube or Vimeo embed, PatreonTV can't play it in-app — you'll see a "Watch on…" prompt to open the original service.
- If the video is Patreon-hosted and still fails, please contact us (below) with the post title and creator name so we can investigate.
Is my Patreon password stored on your servers?
No. During pairing you sign in on Patreon's own website — your password is never seen by our code. The session cookie Patreon issues is handed to your Apple TV once, encrypted in transit, deleted from the pairing service, and stored only in the tvOS Keychain on your device. See our privacy policy for details.
Does watching in PatreonTV support the creator?
You continue to support the creator through your existing Patreon membership — PatreonTV doesn't change that in either direction. To upgrade a tier or start a new membership, visit patreon.com or the official Patreon app.
Can I use PatreonTV without an Apple TV?
PatreonTV is Apple TV only. There is no iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android, Fire TV, or Roku version.
